Your Communications Expert Championing You in Life + Work
Hey y'all! I’m a wife, boy mom, communications expert, and CEO, and I’m so glad you’re here. It is my greatest passion and mission to link arms with other women as their champion and mentor, in life and in work. Whether you’re a young professional, a mama, an entrepreneur, or all of the above, I’m here to share my hard-fought wisdom and cheer you on as you design and live a life you love.

Get To Know Me

I’ve been married to my husband, Matt, also known as The Saint, for 17 years. And y’all, no man is more deserving of that nickname. We have two teenage boys (my dudes...where does the time go?!) and if we’re not working or on one of our weekly date …

I’ve been married to my husband, Matt, also known as The Saint, for 17 years. And y’all, no man is more deserving of that nickname. We have two teenage boys (my dudes...where does the time go?!) and if we’re not working or on one of our weekly date nights, you’ll find us at a boy’s ball game, cheering loudly in the stands. I’m a big believer in investing in your marriage, dating your kids (#DudesAndDoll), and prioritizing your family above all else. I’m one lucky doll to get to do life with these dudes.

When I was laid off in 2010, my husband looked at me and said, “Do not take your next step out of fear.” At that moment, the entrepreneur in me was born. Over the last ten years, I’ve built a team, grown and doubled my business (during a pandemic, no less), all while serving marquee tastemakers, authors, and agents of change with results-driven communication strategies. It’s grown into something bigger and better than I could have ever imagined. Some days I still have to pinch myself!

Have you ever been told that you’re “too much”? It was the story of my life--bossy, assertive, domineering--until two high school teachers changed the narrative. These women told me I had the gift of communicating, that I was a great leader and storyteller. They believed in me. Those women tremendously influenced my life and it is one of my greatest joys and passions to pour into the women coming behind me, just as they did for me. I’m the proud leader of the all-female team at Choice, mentor of collegiate women, and megaphone for female-led businesses and clients. I believe it’s my responsibility to help instill confidence in the next generation of female leaders, and it’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly.

For more than two decades now, I’ve been helping authors, change agents, and tastemakers reach their audiences and grow their platforms by planning and executing communications strategies. I’ve launched more than 100 New York Times bestsellers, and nurtured relationships with contacts at national media outlets who’ve become my friends. My bread and butter is helping others discern and communicate their unique message, by crafting communication and brand strategies, tailored to their needs, that move the needle. I love to share what I’ve learned.

Born and raised in Atlanta, I earned my undergrad degree from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at The University of Georgia -- Go Dawgs! Upon graduation, I headed straight back to Atlanta where I worked in government and non-profit communications until I met a cute guy from Nashville. After we married, I moved, started a career in the book publishing industry and built a family and a home in this treasured city. Now you’d have to drag me kicking and screaming from Music City. I’m a pop culture junkie, make a mean cocktail, love to travel, and am always on the hunt for the latest trends and classic staples for my wardrobe and additions to my beauty and skincare routine. I love to grab a glass of wine with my girlfriends on a random school night, and like a true southerner, hosting others around my table nourishes my soul. I don’t believe in the myth of work/life “balance,” but I do believe that the perfect red lip goes a long way to helping you walk into a room confidently.

As a communications expert that loves to talk and has been a storyteller from a young age (any fellow high school yearbook editors out there?)… it only made sense that I host a podcast! Our listeners, who are busy, working women, are hearing from guests how they can take their best next steps to grow personally and professionally. They wear multiple hats and need encouragement, wisdom and practical advice that they can apply in their own lives. We’re covering all the bases: Communications, Relationships, Entrepreneurship, Empowering Women + Leadership. It’s my distinct privilege to serve as your host and guide. You can listen wherever you stream your podcasts.
