This Intentional Life: Our Sincerest Thanks – One Month In with Heather Adams

It’s been a little more than a month since we launched our new podcast, This Intentional Life, and I feel like we’ve lived two lifetimes since then. It’s hard to believe that we’ve stepped into the second half of 2020. In October of last year when we built and created This Intentional Life, we could have never imagined a global pandemic, racial tensions, and a general feeling of uncertainty, anxiety, and stress would permeate our culture. Since last Fall, we’ve prepared and executed finely laid plans that were leading to the launch of the podcast on our Choice anniversary week. Interviews scheduled and recorded, graphics designed, show notes prepared, audio edited, content drafted – so many moving parts to manage and execute.

Then the first week of June came – launch week. #BlackLivesMatter and George Floyd protests were happening all over the country. The #BlackTuesday initiative was taking place that very Tuesday with an opportunity for white men and women to mute their platforms so black voices could rise and we could all listen. These are important times, so we remained silent. And, I’m glad that we did. I am a student in that space and am continuing to absorb and learn. Can I be honest, though? That was hard to navigate and I’m a communications professional. 

Now, here we sit, roughly a month after that week and I am in awe of your comments, your ratings, and reviews, your texts, your DMs – all an encouragement to how the podcast is serving you right where you are. This, my friends, is exactly what we hoped. As we dreamed and built and planned and taped and did all the things to present our baby to you, our prayer was that the topics we covered and the experts we invited to the table would all bring you clarity, hope, challenge your thinking and spur you to action. 

 So, what’s to come? Well, I’m thrilled to share that we have so much more in store that you are going to absolutely love. Our pillar categories that we’ll always cover – Relationships, Beauty, Fashion and Wellness, Empowering Women, Leadership and Entrepreneurship, Pop Culture and News of the Day – will be our constant guide. These are the topics that we are navigating ourselves in our own daily lives and we intend to continue to bring you resources and guidance (and some FUN!) through our episodes.
